Refund Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

This policy covers purchases of promotion Offers through the PlaceMint marketplace. It is part of the Marketplace Terms. Checkout places a hold on your payment method; you are actually charged only when the seller accepts your order. So money comes back to you in one of two ways: before acceptance, the hold is simply released — you were never charged; after acceptance, PlaceMint — the merchant of record on every marketplace purchase — issues a refund, in full, to your original payment method. We never issue partial refunds.

Automatic — no action required from you

Your money comes back automatically, and you are notified by email, in each of these cases:

  • The Platform Manager does not accept within 72 hours. Every order the seller has not accepted 72 hours after purchase is cancelled and the hold on your payment method released — you are never charged. Non-response counts as a decline — you never need to follow up.
  • The Platform Manager declines your order. A decline during the acceptance window cancels the order and releases the hold immediately — you are never charged.
  • Delivery proof is not supplied within the Offer's stated Turnaround. If the delivery window the Offer advertised passes without the Platform Manager submitting the live post URL, the order is cancelled and you are refunded in full.

Money back you trigger yourself

  • Cancelling before acceptance. Until the Platform Manager accepts your order, you can cancel it from your order page — free, self-serve, no reason needed. The hold is released and you are never charged.
  • Winning a dispute. If you file a dispute within the 7-day review window and PlaceMint determines the promotion did not run as described, you are refunded in full. Dispute resolution is binary — full refund or full release, never a split — as set out in the Marketplace Terms.

When no refund is due

  • After the Platform Manager accepts, you can no longer cancel — the seller has committed a slot.
  • If proof of delivery is submitted and the 7-day review window passes without a dispute, the funds are released to the Platform Manager and the order is complete.
  • If a dispute is resolved as delivered-as-described, the funds are released and no refund is due.
  • Disappointing promotional results (reach, engagement, streams) are not grounds for a refund — a promotion that ran as described is delivered.

Timing

Hold releases and refunds are initiated the moment the triggering event occurs. A released hold typically disappears from your statement within a few business days, depending on your bank. Refunds of completed charges are returned by Stripe to your payment method; banks typically post them within 5–10 business days.

Subscriptions

This policy covers marketplace purchases only. Refunds for PlaceMint Pro and Marketer subscriptions are governed by Section 4 of the Terms of Service.
